Dear Members

As you may be aware, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force in the UK on 25th May 2018.  The Stratford Society will be affected by this regulation as we do store and use your personal data for the purpose of Society administration and information dissemination, eg newsletters, visit notifications and events.

We don't believe however that it will result in any significant changes to the way we look after your details.  This data is stored securely, is only used for the above purpose, and is not made available to third parties.  This has always been the case but we are now required to inform you of this.

The other main - and very important - requirement of GDPR is that we now have to ask your permission to allow us to store and use your name, address, email address and telephone number for the purpose stated in the 1st paragraph above.

We would be grateful therefore if you would reply to this email granting your consent for the Society to continue to hold your personal information and give your permission for the Society to communicate with you by email, telephone, text message or letter.  Please note that you must opt in - failure to reply by 25th May will lead to your details being deleted from our records.
